PREPARATION FOR EGD/ERCP/PEG

NO SOLID FOOD AFTER _____________________________ON____________________________

CLEAR LIQUIDS (coffee, water, tea, clear fruit juices (apple, grape, cranberry), broth, Gatorade, soda pop, plain Jell O (NO RED JELLO) or anything with red
food dye, (MILK NOT A CLEAR LIQUID) may be taken until _______________________________

As sedation will be given with this procedure, please be sure to have someone available to drive you home.

  •   Avoid aspirin for one week prior to the examination aspirin may contribute to bleeding problems following biopsy or polyp removal.

  •   If you are taking Coumadin, discontinue dose on _____________________ and get lab drawn on ________________

  •   If you require antibiotics before dental procedures, please get further instructions from Dr. Cook/Dr. Davis or the nurse.

    • If you take heart or blood pressure medications, please be sure to take these medications as usual with just enough water to get them down. Please check with the nurse or the doctor for other medications.

    NOTE: IF YOU CANCEL YOUR PROCEDURE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF SCHEDULED TIME YOU WILL BE CHARGED $100.00
